Independent Hearing Assessment is a highly motivated and family run business in a very specialised field. We provide a nationwide service and will assist companies with a varied number of employees from 25 to over 7,000.

Established in 1990 by an Audiologist with some 29 years of experience and an engineer with a background of general engineering, our aim was to offer the highest level of service providing best value. Our clients require the audiometric screening of employees as part of their Health Surveillance Programmes, where employees are exposed to noise we will provide a noise assessment service which will comply with all aspects of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005.

We pride ourselves for being completely independent, with every package tailored to meet the individual requirements of each client. We offer a highly professional, personal and flexible service with a competitive pricing policy.

We always offer the best value possible, with the emphasis on quality.

Our service enables employers to meet their duties under Regulation 9 of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005.

We only use qualified audiologists employed by IHA, with many years of experience in conducting industrial screenings. Other suppliers use nurses or personnel merely trained in screening procedures, or locum audiologists  who have limited or no experience with difficult industrial screening protocols. This can often lead to a poor quality service with unsatisfactory results and unnecessary on site issues.

Our Chief Audiologist conducting pure tone audiometry on an employee seated in an acoustic sound shelter. The booth is contained within the consultation area of each of our two mobile screening units.

Our experienced engineer will carry out a comprehensive on-site noise assessment providing industry with the expertise and qualifications required to comply fully with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations. Also we conduct specialised noise surveys on board ships, to ensure that operators comply with the Codes of Practice for Noise on Ships.

Heavy hydraulic presses can produce high levels of noise. A noise assessment will establish the levels of noise produced and what actions are required under the Noise at Work Regulations, by both employees and employers.

Our engineer on board ship recording octave band analysis noise measurements. This will assist the ships operators with compliance of the Codes of Practice for noise levels on ships.
